Synopsis for the far Southern CA coast

At 1 PM, a 1026 mb high was about 900 nautical miles west of Washington State and a 1001 mb low was over far southern Nevada. Tropical Storm Rachel was about 900 nautical miles southwest of Cabo San Lucas with a central pressure of 993 mb. Weak northwest winds will prevail through Saturday. The remnants of Rachel will bring an increase in southerly swell leading to choppy, mixed seas up to 10 feet through Sunday, along with strong and gusty north winds 20 to 30 knots early Sunday morning turning westerly through the afternoon. Winds and seas subside through Monday. More typical onshore flow returns by Tuesday.
