Synopsis for the far Southern California coast

At 2 AM, a broad 1028 mb high was over south central Colorado and a 990 mb low was just west of Cape Mendocino. Winds will continue to strenghten to gale force this morning, bringing steep and hazardous seas. Winds will decrease slightly late today, but remain hazardous to small craft through early Thursday. South to southwest winds strengthen slightly again late Thursday through early Friday.
