Synopsis for the far Southern California coast

At 230 PM, a 1019 mb high was over Monterey, California and a 1010 mb low was over southwestern Arizona. Gusty northwest winds pick up tonight, with gusts 25-30 knots in the outer waters and gusts 20-25 kts within 10 miles of the coast on Thursday, peaking in the afternoon. Locally steep seas of 8-11 feet possible in the outer waters tonight through Thursday afternoon as well. Seas briefly reach 7 to 9 feet in the coastal waters during the daytime and evening Thursday. Winds weaken Thursday evening with offshore flow developing late Thursday into Friday. North to northeasterly flow persists through the weekend.
