The wave heights are forecast as significant wave height which is the average of the highest one-third of the waves. The highest waves may rarely be twice the significant wave height. The winds and seas near thunderstorms may be higher than forecast.

SYNOPSIS

Strong high pressure over the southeast U.S. ridges across Florida and into the Gulf of Mexico producing rain-free conditions through the weekend. Gusty northeast winds expected this morning, which has warranted the need for a short-lived Small Craft Advisory over the eastern gulf waters west of Charlotte Harbor through 7 am this morning. Conditions improve by mid-morning with winds decreasing to around 10-15 knots and seas abating 3 feet or less by this evening and continuing through Sunday. The high pressure moves farther south by Monday and winds are expected to further decrease less than 10 knots and seas abating 2 feet or less into next week.
