Synopsis for Eastern North Carolina coastal waters

High pressure overhead this afternoon will shift east tonight as low pressure approaches from the northwest. A stronger low and cold front will move through the area late Tuesday with elevated winds and seas and an increased risk of thunderstorms. High pressure moves back in mid-week with a reduced risk of thunderstorms.
