COASTAL WATERS FROM STONINGTON ME TO MERRIMACK RIVER MA OUT TO 25 NM

ANZ100-250430
925 AM EST Wed Dec 24 2025

Synopsis for Stonington ME to Merrimack River Ma out to 25 NM

An area of convergence will continue to settle in early this morning across the coastal waters, with offshore winds south of the trough and onshore to the north. Within this area periods of heavy snow are likely with visibility below one half mile at times. Winds will also be gusty on the north side of the trough, and these winds will sweep south across all waters through the day. A brief period of gale force gusts are likely outside of the bays. Brief high pressure will build over the waters and allow winds and seas to diminish, but a quick moving strong cold front will cross the region and deliver another round of strong wind gusts. Gale force gusts are possible for all waters Thursday night into Friday.
