Seas given as significant wave height, which is the average height of the highest 1/3 of the waves. Individual waves may be more than twice the significant wave height.

Locally higher winds and seas can be expected in and near tstms.

SYNOPSIS FOR MID ATLC WATERS
A cold front will move E across the waters today. This front will move E of the area tonight, but immediately be followed by a stronger cold front moving E across the area late tonight and Thu. A wave of low pressure will develop along the front late Thu, then lift NE along the front away from the area Thu night. High pressure will move quickly E across the waters Fri, then shift E of the region Fri night. A warm front will move E offshore into the northern waters Fri night, then become stationary oriented from SW to NE across the waters Sat and Sat night. Complex low pressure will develop along the front Sun over the central waters, then lift NE to the Outer Mid-Atlantic Waters Sun night.
