West central North Atlantic continental shelf and slope waters beyond 20 nm to 250 nm offshore, including south of Georges Bank from 1000 fm to 250 nm offshore.

Seas given as significant wave height, which is the average height of the highest 1/3 of the waves. Individual waves may be more than twice the significant wave height.

Locally higher winds and seas can be expected in and near tstms.

SYNOPSIS FOR MID ATLC WATERS
Low pressure centered near 37N71W will rapidly intensify while tracking NE across the waters this evening, pulling a strong cold front across the area, then clearing well NE of the area later tonight. A weak high pressure ridge will briefly build in over the waters Mon, followed by another cold front moving rapidly through the waters Mon night into early Tue. High pressure will gradually build E toward the coast Tue, build off the coast Tue night, move across the waters Wed, and then pass E of the area by Wed night. Another cold front will approach from the NW Wed night, then move across the waters Thu into Thu night. Another, stronger cold front will approach from the NW Fri, then move SE across the waters Fri night. The NAVTEX transmitter in Charleston is not operational at this time. Technicians are aware, and parts have been ordered.
