See recent photos from TAO buoy 8N 110W Station 44011 - Search and Rescue DataGEORGES BANK 170 NM East of Hyannis, MA Station 44011 went adrift on 9/8/2012 and the last report from its moored position was at 2000Z. Station 44011 also ceased transmitting data 01/08/13.
The NOAA National Data Buoy Center has deferred annual maintenance for buoys and C-MAN stations in your region until further notice. We hope to resume maintenance of the coastal and offshore weather buoys and C-MAN network next year, pending full funding of the President's FY14 budget. Caution: Right whales may be active in northeast waters year-round. Mandatory speed restrictions of 10 knots apply to vessels 65 feet or greater in specific areas and times along the US east coast. Voluntary speed restrictions may be in effect in other areas and times.
