Station 44008 - Search and Rescue Data
NANTUCKET 54NM Southeast of Nantucket
Station 44008 went adrift on 02/09/2013 and the last report from its moored position was at 1800Z. Transmits and positioning ceased on 03/26/2013.
Caution: Right whales may be active in northeast waters year-round. Mandatory speed restrictions of 10 knots apply to vessels 65 feet or greater in specific areas and times along the US east coast. The NOAA National Data Buoy Center has deferred annual maintenance for buoys and C-MAN stations until further notice. We hope to resume maintenance of the coastal and offshore weather buoys and C-MAN network next year, pending adequate funding in FY14.
